✈ Airport Chronicles: Singapore Changi Airport

Changi: The World's Best Airport – my blog review here http://backpackerlee.wordpress.com/20…

Experience the sights and sounds of Singapore Changi Airport in what is my longest ever entry in my Airport Chronicles series of videos.

I see lots of aircraft in this tour, including AirAsia, KLM, Qantas, Qatar, Emirates, Etihad, ANA, Singapore Airlines, Thai, Japan Airlines, British Airways, Myanma, and many more besides. At one point, I see at the same time a SQ and QF A380 taxiing past an EK A380 parked at the gate!

I think Changi really needs to enhance its air conditioning. The past couple of times I have been there it has been rather hot. Would be nice to have some cooler air circulating. Recorded March 21, 2013 awaiting a flight to Dubai.

Thank you for uploading this video. I am Singaporean although we travel a
few times a year for holidays we almost always rush to buy duty free
cosmetics, kids are at the games room, hubby on the internet stations and
off to the departure gates … i only visited the Sunflower garden and love
the koi pond and garden at Terminal 2. Yes we love Changi Airport because
it does not feel crowded even though there are many people moving around.
It has a calming, happy feel to it … and when we touch down after a
tiring trip it feels good to be home. Hope you will have a even better
experience the next time you visit Singapore. We are looking forward to
Terminal 4 in 2 years’ time.

Really glad that you enjoyed our airport! Whenever I return home, Changi
makes me feel I’m home. Singapore has an added advantage because it does
not handle domestic flights, our land is too small to do domestic flights
haha. And we are an English-speaking country, English as our first language
followed by our mother tongues. And Changi is future orientated,
well-planned to do further future expansions.

What a great airport and great video too! I would arrive about 6 hours
prior to my flight just to look at all it has to offer. I saw that the
pool stays open until 2300 hours, does all the other nice stuff (gardens,
food, etc.) stay open late as well?
    If airports in America were like this, I would never stress out traveling;
but American airports go out of their way to stress out travelers.

I’m a Filipino and I say Changi Airport has to be the best in the world.
It’s busy yet assuring. I love to stay inside the marvelous airport,
especially in Terminal 2. I just love it! Incheon is lame.Just a huge space
but the cool thing is we could sleep there. In Changi, we can’t.

While rushing through Changi Airport is great because things get done very
quick and efficiently, the best way to experience Changi Airport is at a
leisurely pace with plenty of time, which I’ve only been able to manage
twice. Once when I arrived with just hand luggage, so I walked through the
duty-free areas of all 3 terminals checking out the stores, restaurants,
the lounges and other facilities (ha! arrived in Terminal 2, cleared
immigration at Terminal 3). Plenty for any traveller who has an extended
    wait between connecting flights.

The only bugbear I have is the the lack of power outlets in Terminal 3
especially while waiting at the gates or near the gates to charge my
phone/pad/laptop. They usually have them at the “computer corners”
(seats/desks) that are somewhat out of the way tucked in some quiet corner
away from the gate (great for working, bad for trying to get some last
minute work or recharge before boarding); Terminal 3 is a lot of glass and
steel and makes it harder to mount an (unsightly) power outlet.

Changi Airport is almost a destination in itself, isn’t it? Many airports,
particularly those in Australia would bemoan the loss of income producing
retail space used by the cactus and butterfly groves..
Was it all filmed airside? Great video, must look at your flight videos.
